In honor of Endangered Species Day, we thought we would re-share this amazing video showing a female Florida panther with two nearly grown offspring in tow. Trail cameras set up in the sanctuary by Audubon staff and partners captured this footage two years ago. At 13,450 acres, Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary protects only a sliver of the habitat that these big cats need. The Florida panther — the last big cat surviving in the eastern United States and the state animal of Florida — is an icon of wild Florida. The Florida panther is known as an umbrella species, meaning that its conservation protects other animals that call its habitat home.
