Traditional horsemanship in northern Ghana, from the kingdoms of Mamprugu and Dagbon. In the late 14th or early 15th century, a band of conquering horsemen under the leadership of Naa Gbewaa, a descendant of the legendary Red Hunter, Tohazee, swept down into what is now Northern Ghana, and established the Kingdom of Dagbon.
