Facial reconstruction of a 3,800-year-old man from Sapalli Tepe, Uzbekistan The Bronze Age settlement of Sapalli Tepe was located near mountain streams flowing from the Kugitangtau range in southern Uzbekistan. It was discovered in 1958 by D. I. Albaum and fully excavated between 1969-1974 by A. Askarov. Finds from Southern Uzbekistan showed the region was one of the centers of ancient agricultural civilization in the East. Sapallitepa became one of the earliest known sedentary farming sites of
