The brothers were found guilty of murdering Jose and Kitty Menendez in 1989 and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Crews from nine other fire departments were called in to assist, and tanker trucks hauled in water, as the fire was in an area without fire hydrants, the department said. No injuries were reported.
