Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston is having a rough start to the Week 7 game against the Indianapolis Colts. Here's a closer look at what's happening.
If Johnston misses his second straight contest, rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden II could be featured in the passing game again. The fifth-round draft pick notched a season-high seven catches on eight targets for 68 yards against Miami, and the receptions were tied with McConkey for most on the team. Sunday’s game will start at 4:05 p.m. ET on CBS.
The Los Angeles Chargers have made a final decision on Quentin Johnston for their matchup with the Miami Dolphins.
The Los Angeles Chargers have dropped their Thursday injury report and it provided great news for both left tackle Joe Alt and wide receiver Quentin Johnston.
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston was a sudden addition to the Week 6 injury report before his team takes on the Miami Dolphins. Johnston has fully shed the bust label this year while enjoying No. 1 status in Justin Herbert’s offense, at least in part because the threat of Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen has kept defenses honest.
In Week 6, though, Johnston is creating headaches. He's a game-time decision for the Chargers' game in Miami against the Dolphins, which kicks off at 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. PT). NFL Network's Ian Rapoport used those exact words, "game-time decision," in a Saturday night report on the matter.
Johnston managed to log a trio of limited practice sessions before being ruled out for the Chargers' win over the Dolphins in Week 6, so he may need to resume practicing in full in order to gain clearance for Sunday's matchup against the Colts.
