A new place for medical care is now open in Monroe County. Lehigh Valley Health Network unveiled its latest neighborhood hospital on Wednesday.

At a Jan. 20 meeting, ISD board members named Chad Baas as assistant superintendent of business and administrative services. Baas previously worked as the shared‑time business manager for Ida Public Schools and has been with the Monroe County ISD since 2017, according to the announcement.

Monroe County is under a cold weather advisory until 10 a.m. Saturday, with temperatures in the single digits and wind chills as low as 25 below zero.
