Flood Watch for portions of the local area
An area of low will drift north out of the Gulf of Mexico through the morning on Monday. This system will cause widespread rain with pockets of heavy rain thanks to abundant moisture coming from the Southern Jet Stream out of the Eastern Pacific.
First Alert Weather Day with flood potential through Tuesday
We will see this line sink slowly southeast bringing more of the storms through parts of Jefferson, Orleans and St. Tammany as well as the Mississippi Gulf Coast through the early evening. It appears coverage will back off during the late evening with another line developing ahead of the cold front that will push south during the day on Tuesday.
