CLEMSON, S.C. — SMU kicker Sam Keltner didn’t attempt a field goal in the second half of Saturday’s 35-24 win over Clemson, but his name was the one chanted in the locker room as the team celebrated. “Shoutout Sam Keltner. Shoutout Sam,” SMU linebacker Brandon Miyazono said multiple times during his postgame press conference.

Even with a loss and some first-half struggles, Clemson backup quarterback Christopher Vizzina was a bright spot on Saturday.

Despite Vizzina’s efforts, Clemson’s defense couldn’t come up with key stops. SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns, both to Jordan Hudson, including a 70-yard strike early and a late third-down completion that sealed the win.

Kevin Jennings looked like he had been there before. With 6:44 left up 29-24 over Clemson, SMU really needed a scoring drive. At the very least, it needed to eat a lot of clock and force Clemson to burn its remaining timeouts.

Around the ACC, Miami dropped to No. 9 after their loss to Louisville, who jumped into the rankings to No. 22 after their upset win. Undefeated Georgia Tech flew up to No. 7, while Virginia continues their hot run, moving up to No. 16.

Clemson's 35-24 home loss to SMU on Saturday will only make the voices calling for head coach Dabo Swinney's job grow louder, but he's unlikely to be going anywhere anytime soon.
