Ace Frehley, the original lead guitarist and legendary "Spaceman" of KISS, has died. Frehley died Oct. 16 after reportedly being on life support following a fall at his home. He was 74. The rocker's family said in a statement to USA TODAY that the musician died peacefully, surrounded by his family, in Morristown, New Jersey.
Frehley, 74, otherwise known as "Spaceman" when he played with KISS, passed away in Morristown, New Jersey, peacefully amongst family, due to health complications after taking a fall in his studio, according to USA TODAY.
Originally hailing from the Bronx in New York, Ace was born Paul Daniel Frehley. He later became affectionately known as the "Spaceman" of rock music pioneers KISS for his out-of-this world persona, makeup and wardrobe.
While Kiss' image tended to overshadow the band's musicianship, Ace Frehley was one of the most influential and imitated guitarists of his generation.
