SALT LAKE CITY – The Phoenix Suns stormed all the way back from a 20-point deficit to force overtime, but fell to the Utah Jazz, 138-134, before a sellout crowd of 18,186, Monday, Oct. 27, at Delta Center. Keyonte George put the Jazz (2-1) up for good, 136-134, with 40.2 seconds left.

Lauri Markkanen’s 51-point, 14-rebound performance pushed the Jazz to an overtime win over the Phoenix Suns on Monday. To get his first career 50-point game, Markkanen shot 14-for-32 from the field, including 6-of-13 from deep. He also made 17 free throws.

In those healthy preseason games, Bailey averaged 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game on 65.5% from the floor and 40% from three-point range. In the regular season, those numbers are 1.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.

In Monday's overtime win over the Suns, Markkanen became the first Jazz player to score at least 50 points since 1998.

The Phoenix Suns have dropped their last three games, all on the road, after winning their season opener at home.

The Utah Jazz played 2,155 regular season games since Karl Malone scored 56 points in awin over Golden State on April 7, 1998. No Jazz player had topped the 50-point mark until Lauri Markkanen scored a career-high 51 in a 138-134 win over the Phoenix Suns on Monday night.

The Phoenix Suns conclude a three-game road trip Oct. 27 against the Utah Jazz. They will play against a familiar face in the Jazz's backcourt.

In Saturday’s loss to Denver, Devin Booker led the way for Phoenix as he ended the game with 31 points and seven rebounds while Grayson Allen added 17 points, four rebounds and five assists of his own. Now the Suns will try to end their two-game losing skid on Monday night on the road as they travel to face the Jazz.
