The Minnesota Vikings proved they can win ugly games, defeating the Detroit Lions on Christmas Day. Lions quarterback Jared Goff had no answer for Minnesota's defense on Thursday night. He completed 18-of-29 pass attempts for 197 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.
The Lions looked like they were about to fumble away a chance to keep their season alive. But then a 19-play drive capped by a ridiculous contested touchdown catch by Isaac TeSlaa put them right back into the game.
Smith’s interception was one of six turnovers the Vikings forced in a 23-10 victory over Detroit that came almost solely because of their aggressive defense.
