Steph Curry's 48-point effort not enough in loss vs. Trail Blazers
Despite a 48 point effort from Steph Curry, the Warriors came up short in a 136-131 loss to the Trail Blazers on Sunday evening.
Both the Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers may be without multiple key players in Sunday night's matchup.
In the final four minutes of the game, Butler had just two shot attempts, both of which were missed tip-ins after Stephen Curry missed a layup. He otherwise had no stats in that stretch. Just the two offensive rebounds from that one sequence.
Curry torched the Blazers all night, making 12 of 19 three-point shots, but he had a crucial flub down the stretch, missing an open driving layup with 29 seconds left. Curry also committed a backbreaking turnover, fumbling away the ball under relentless pressure from Toumani Camara and Shaedon Sharpe with 15 seconds left.
“Over the course of the program, the Trail Blazers have made more than 11,250 three-pointers, resulting in more than 33,750 tree’s planted. The remaining trees were planted via Blazer5 Gaming three-pointers, fans playing the digital Hoop Heroes game on the Trail Blazers app, and special promotions,” the Blazers said in a press release.

He'll add depth to the Blazers on the wings, but it's unclear if he'll see any meaningful minutes. The Blazers' next game will be against the Kings on Thursday.
The Pelicans, who entered the game with the worst record in the NBA, sent the Blazers back to Portland desperate for good news on the injury front.
The Golden State Warriors’ late-game issues resurfaced again last night. Even with 37-year-old Stephen Curry delivering a sensational 48-point performance, Golden State could not finish the job, falling 136-131 to the Portland Trail Blazers for a second straight loss.
Clingan (lower leg) recorded three points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, three blocks, three assists and one steal across 22 minutes Sunday in the Trail Blazers ' 136-131 win over the Warriors.
It’s unclear when injured rotation players like Jrue Holiday, Donovan Clingan, Matisse Thybulle and Scoot Henderson will return. But, at the very least, a couple of the players seem to be making progress. Here’s the latest regarding a few key players:
