Stock futures are slightly higher Friday as the equities market looks to rebound from a pre-Thanksgiving downturn.

Even in an age of instant communication and live financial data, investors have had to wait days to take ownership of the stocks they purchased or to receive payment for the stocks they sold. No longer.

Thanksgiving holiday. The Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange are both closed on Thanksgiving and will re-open on Nov. 29, but shut down early at 1 p.m. ET. The U.S. bond market will also be closed on Thursday and are scheduled to close at 2 p.

The major indexes fell before the Thanksgiving holiday due some tech turkeys, but came off lows. Nvidia stock fought back to hold key support.
