Kyle Higashioka was 3 for 3 with a home run and five RBIs from the ninth spot in the order in the Texas Rangers' 7-4 victory over the San Diego Padres on Saturday night. Patrick Corbin (5-7) allowed two runs on six hits in six innings to help Texas even the series.

The Texas Rangers signed free-agent First Baseman Rowdy Tellez to a minor league contract, according to Will Sammon of The Athletic. Tellez was let go by the Mariners last week after struggling mightily to start the season.

The Rangers have tried anything and everything to get this offense going, including external additions to the roster. The most recent came on Saturday, when the club signed veteran infielder Rowdy Tellez to a Minor League deal.
