Police officers have described the Notting Hill Carnival as a 'war zone' and 'hell' in a new survey which has been dismissed as part of an 'anti-carnival agenda' by organisers.

A majority of police officers feel unsafe working at Notting Hill Carnival, a survey by the Metropolitan Police Federation has suggested. As part of the survey, officers who have worked at the event over the last 10 years described it as "hell" and a "warzone".

A new Met Police survey has revealed that officers feel unsafe at the Notting Hill Carnival, branding it a “war zone” where they are treated as “lambs to slaughter.” The survey found that 90 per cent of officers who responded to the questionnaire said they felt unsafe working at the carnival.
