While the PCB had initially been adamant about the entire Champions Trophy taking place in Pakistan in the months of February and March next year, it reportedly accepted the hybrid model over the weekend following the ICC’s emergency board meeting.

The hybrid model agreement thus offers a temporary solution to the Champions Trophy venue problem but leaves many questions open to debate over the larger implications for future ICC tournaments and revenue distribution.

The formula will be applicable for the next three years from the Champions Trophy 2025, they said, adding that it was expected to put the issue of CT’s scheduling and venue to rest. As per the Geo News source, the ICC has reportedly advised the BCCI to accept the formula, which would protect the board from legal proceedings from Pakistan.
