Several highways connecting B.C.'s Lower Mainland to the southern Interior were closed Thursday morning following overnight storms.

Highway 1 is closed in both directions between Golden and Revelstoke due to avalanche control work. The closure stretches about 142.5 kilometres, between Townley Street and 14th Street North.
