South Sudan has reversed its decision to deny entry to a man it said was a Congolese national deported by the United States after Washington imposed a blanket visa ban on South Sudanese citizens.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the visa ban on Saturday, citing South Sudan's refusal to accept the return of its citizens being removed from the US. But South Sudan's foreign ministry said that a man who was refused entry after being deported from the US was a citizen of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Colleges around the country are reporting cases of international students suddenly learning their visas have been revoked

Federal immigration officials are rescinding the legal status of some international students, using rarely invoked powers.

The terminations affected six current students and seven alumni who received employment extensions of their visas, UW-Madison said.
