The No. 3 Indiana Hoosiers are silencing critics after a 30-20 road win over Oregon. David Pollack says they’re “absolutely for real” as Indiana eyes another playoff run.
Teams in the top 10 when they played unranked opponents are 32-5 through Week 7, with Penn State's loss to UCLA the one we remember best. The .865 winning percentage is middle-of-the-pack since 2000 but well ahead of the top 10's record of 78-15 (.839) for the 2024 season.
Indiana picked up the best win of the college football season on Saturday, according to Joel Klatt. Was it enough to put the Hoosiers at No. 1 in his latest top 10?
The Red Raiders have one of the most balanced teams in college football. They rank No. 1 in total offense, No. 3 in passing offense and No. 14 in rushing offense. On defense, they rank No. 9 in total defense, No. 41 in passing defense and No. 1 in rushing defense.
Of course Oregon takes a fall from No. 3 to No. 8 after taking its first loss of the season, and Oklahoma fell after its upset loss at the hands of Texas as well. The Sooners were No. 7 going into the weekend in the CBS Sports 136 and now find themselves well outside the top 10 checking in at No. 15.
Michigan State football's offense is struggling, its quarterback Aidan Chiles is questionable. And up next is a sack-hungry defense for No. 3 Indiana.

Indiana coach Curt Cignetti is the unanimous choice for top coach in the Big Ten at midseason by a panel of 10 Associated Press writers who cover the conference.
Curt Cignetti said he had a good feeling about Indiana's bout with Oregon heading into the Hoosiers' 30-20 win over the Ducks, the program's first away from home against a top-five opponent. And his team was rewarded in Sunday's Week 8 Coaches Poll, shooting to No. 3 behind Ohio State and Miami.
