CLEVELAND, Ohio — Tom Brady wasted no time reaching out to Shedeur Sanders after he tumbled to the fifth round of the NFL Draft, where the Browns traded up to No. 144 to grab him.

The Browns signed Joe Flacco in free agency, but used draft stock to acquire the team's other three signal callers. Cleveland sent a 2025 fifth-rounder to the Philadelphia Eagles alongside Dorian Thompson-Robinson in order to acquire Kenny Pickett, then used a third-round pick to select Dillon Gabriel.

In a different vein, Cleveland is not putting Sanders, whom the New York Giants passed on as their franchise QB, in the best position to succeed early in his career thanks to competition. This offseason, they’ve added three other new quarterbacks: Joe Flacco (signing), Kenny Pickett (trade) and Dillon Gabriel (draft, third round).
