Pablo López continued his return from injury with a good-enough start, but the night belonged to Kody Clemens. Boy, did it ever. Inning-by-inning notes:

Shoulder injuries have shut down two pitchers this season, as well. Pablo Lopez has returned from a teres minor strain and started against the Diamondbacks on Friday. David Festa, sidelined by what was initially diagnosed as an impingement, has been shut down.

Plus catcher Christian Vázquez is working his way back from a shoulder infection and reliever Justin Topa is likely done for the season.

The Angels announced Wednesday that Jose Soriano will not start their series finale against the Minnesota Twins after all.

His two-run homer was the only bright spot for a Twins team that fell behind 3-0 in the first inning and then watched the Angels pile on with two runs in the fifth inning, followed by four in the sixth and three more runs in the seventh. The Angels racked up 17 hits while the Twins finished with six.
