President Sam Kennedy, CBO Craig Breslow and manager Alex Cora recap the Red Sox's 2025 season, the young core and goals for 2026
The Red Sox came up big in key moments Tuesday in New York to take Game 1 of their AL Wild Card series against the rival Yankees.
Left out of the starting lineup for the New York Yankees’ playoff opener, Jazz Chisholm Jr. was understandably unhappy. Any accomplished player would be. Chisholm just has a different way of letting off steam.
With their season ended in the Wild Card, the Boston Red Sox held their end of season press conference, with manager Alex Cora, Chief of Baseball Operations Craig Breslow, and President Sam Kennedy. In it, they explained the Sox’ intentions for the offseason, and for next season.

Series Recap: Blue Jays salvage series against Red Sox, enter final series in control of their destiny
The Toronto Blue Jays are just barely holding onto the division lead because of the tiebreaker. A big reason the New York Yankees are back in the division lead race is that the Blue Jays dropped two of three against the Boston Red Sox.
Casey Mize pitched into the seventh inning and allowed two runs, but the bullpen couldn't hold the lead in a 4-3 loss in Boston.
The Red Sox finished just outside the top 10 in DRS. The left side of the infield was shored up. Center field improved. And still, the majors were led in errors with 116 -- one more than last year. The final run-scoring play of the Red Sox season came on an error as first baseman Nathaniel Lowe botched a grounder off the bat of Ben Rice.
In each of the first two games, the Red Sox went with as many righthanded options as they could against both Max Fried and Carlos Rodon. That means that Nate Eaton and Nick Sogard were starters as Lowe and Abreu opened the games on the bench.
