The regime may well be successful in convincing the public that this is a necessary sacrifice in the same “sacred war” against imperialism and global capitalism that the regime has spoken about for decades.

A group of North Korean soldiers, posing as "indigenous people" from Russia's Far East, has been involved in combat with Ukrainian forces in Russia's western border region of Kursk. This was reported by Anatolii Barhylevych, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an interview with the Ukrainian outlet TSN.

Sabrina Singh, spokesperson for the Pentagon, has stated at a briefing that the US Department of Defense has seen no signs suggesting that North Korean troops are present in Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine or are heading in that direction.

The US has not observed any indications of North Korean military personnel being present in Ukraine to support Russia in its war efforts. However, North Korean troops have been reported in Russia’s Kursk region,
