New York is full of local farms selling trees, wreaths and décor for the holiday season. Here are some of the options in the Southern Tier.

Voted the No. 1 Christmas tree farm in Rhode Island by Country Living, Big John Leyden's Tree Farm is a family-run farm with over 100,000 trees of 10 different varieties, including blue spruce, white pine and balsam fir. Guests can cut their favorite tree immediately or tag it and return for cutting at a later date.

Cranberry Tree Farm: All trees sold are grown in NC on their very own tree farm, growing Fraser fir, Concolor fir, White pine and Blue spruce Christmas trees in sizes ranging from two to 14 feet. They also sell fresh garland and wreaths. Other locations in Cary and Chapel Hill. Opening day Friday, Nov. 29.
