Russia is pounding Ukraine's third-largest city ahead of a possible 32-hour truce aimed at pausing the fighting over Orthodox Easter.

Ukraine and Russia exchanged 175 prisoners of war each on Saturday in their latest swap, officials from both countries said, as they prepare ​to start a ceasefire to mark Orthodox Easter.

Alexander Khinshtein, the governor of the Kursk ⁠region wrote on state-backed messenger service MAX that the ​attack took place ​after ​4 p.m. (1300 ‌GMT) during a declared Easter truce.
