The Sixers are confident VJ Edgecombe will take advantage of his latest bounce-back opportunity
VJ Edgecombe played 35 total games in his one season at Baylor. So after the 76ers selected him third in the 2025 NBA draft, he was told to have a short-term memory during the NBA’s daunting 82-game slate.
In the second playoff game of his rookie year, Edgecombe was downright heroic in a 30-point, 10-rebound performance. Backcourt mate Tyrese Maxey was also excellent in the fourth quarter of a 29-point, nine-assist night and the seventh-seeded Sixers flew home with their first-round playoff series vs. the Celtics tied at 1-1.
Edgecombe scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Tuesday for the Sixers, who bounced back from an ugly Game 1 loss against the Celtics.
Maxey in particular has made it clear that he deserves to be the Sixers primary scorer and that the Sixers deserve him as their primary scorer.
