Israel could derail Donald Trump’s plan for peace in Gaza by pushing ahead with plans to annex the West Bank, Marco Rubio has warned. In a direct challenge to Benjamin Netanyahu, Right-wing MPs in Israel’s Knesset passed a bill on Thursday that would apply Israeli sovereignty to all West Bank settlements.

Vice President JD Vance expressed his disapproval of the Israeli Knesset’s choice to pass two symbolic votes in favor of annexing land in the West Bank.

The vote by Israel's parliament, the Knesset, came with Vice President JD Vance visiting Israel to shore up the Gaza ceasefire that was brokered by Mr. Trump's administration. The president has made clear he would not back annexation of the West Bank.
