State District Judge Jill Renfro Willis, who presides over the 429th judicial district in Collin County, has recused herself from the case. Willis is the wife of Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis, who is known to be a close friend of Ken Paxton.

Texas state Sen. Angela Paxton on Thursday said she filed for divorce from her husband, state Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is challenging U.S. Sen. John Cornyn in a Republican primary.

Angela Paxton, a state senator and wife of Texas AG Ken Paxton, filed for divorce while citing "biblical grounds."
