Three children who were abducted while they were waiting at a bus stop in Virginia Thursday morning were "found safe" later that night, according to authorities

Authorities issued an Amber Alert on Thursday afternoon for the kidnapping of three children, ages 6-10, in Fishersville, Virginia.

Three children reported missing in Virginia were found in Alabama on Thursday. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Fusion Center received a law enforcement bulletin concerning an AMBER Alert for three missing children issued by the Virginia State Police and the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse.

An Alabama woman is in jail after police say she kidnapped her biological children from a bus stop in Virginia.

Virginia State Police has cancelled the AMBER alert for three children who were abducted from Fishersville. As of 6:07 p.m., VSP did not have additional details about the children other than they were found safe.

"This is an active investigation, and we are committed to reuniting the children with their legal guardians as quickly and safely as possible," the sheriff's office said.
