The teen accused of stabbing track star Austin Metcalf to death will not face life behind bars or the death penalty, according to a Texas district attorney.

The teenager charged with murdering high school football star Austin Metcalf at a Texas track meet will not face the death penalty if he’s convicted at trial, according to the local District Attorney.

Austin Metcalf, an 11th grader at Frisco Memorial High School, died Wednesday after police said another student stabbed him during an altercation at a track meet.

Fr Paul Murphy was stabbed seven times in the attack, which occurred at Renmore Barracks in Galway on August 15. The priest was attacked by the boy, who was 16 at the time but is now 17, as Fr Murphy was driving into the barracks around 10:35pm.

Attorneys for Bryan Kohberger argued during a hearing that body-camera footage of the 2022 traffic stop could be construed as Kohberger wanting to hide his identity from law enforcement.

Abbriella Elliott, 16, was stabbed to death in a ‘very violent’ attack in Florida — and a 16-year-old boy, whom her family says is her ex-boyfriend, has been arrested in the murder investigation. Her body was found on March 27 in Hernando County.

A Mission Viejo man was found stabbed to death inside of his apartment on Wednesday afternoon and authorities say that they have a suspect in custody.
