Kentucky Derby 151 has officially come to a close, and your race winner is Sovereignty. The rain didn't stop the crowd from coming to Louisville, Kentucky, to experience the once in a lifetime event.

Sovereignty beat favourite Journalism to win the 151st Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. The colt, ridden by Junior Alvarado and trained by Bill Mott, finished the one and a quarter miles flat race in two minutes and 02.31 seconds to beat Journalism by one and a half lengths.

William Mott is Sovereignty's trainer. This marks his second Kentucky Derby win after Country House won in 2019. It's his third Triple Crown victory, having trained Drosselmeyer in the 2010 Belmont Stakes. Mott also has 10 Breeders' Cup wins.
