Arkansas DHS warns of upcoming ‘delay or disruption’ in SNAP benefits: What to know
The Arkansas Department of Human Services has warned SNAP recipients that the government shutdown may cause delays or disruptions in November benefits, and has advised them to prepare for a potential surge in requests for food aid.
The increase in SNAP benefits for a single person is $6 per month for fiscal year 2026, which began in October. That means that person now receives $298 per month on their EBT card, where SNAP benefits are deposited. For two people, maximum benefits rose to $546; for three, $785; and for four, $994.
The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services website said: "Because Republicans in Washington D.C., failed to pass a federal budget" November SNAP benefits can't be paid.
