Russia ramped up drone attacks on Ukraine dramatically in June, an AFP analysis published Tuesday showed, pressuring the war-torn country's stretched air defence systems and exhausted civilian population.

The overnight attack was one of the largest on Ukraine and included strikes in the western part of the country, which is hit less often.

Russia launched 537 drones and missiles into Ukraine overnight into Sunday morning, according to Ukraine's air force.
