Spanish midfielder Riqui Puig, the key playmaker for Los Angeles Galaxy, has suffered an ACL knee injury and will miss Saturday's MLS Cup final against the New York Red Bulls, the club said on Sunday.

The LA Galaxy announced on Sunday that midfielder Riqui Puig tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee during the Western Conference final against Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday night.

Galaxy midfielder Riqui Puig suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in last night’s Western Conference final and will miss Saturday’s MLS Cup. The club confirmed the injury after Puig underwent an MRI Sunday morning. He will undergo surgery at a later date.
