Guerschon Yabusele has departed Philadelphia, reportedly agreeing to a two-year, $11.6 million contract with the New York Knicks on Tuesday morning.

In the 2025 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers added Baylor’s VJ Edgecombe, with the No. 3 overall pick. In Edgecombe, Daryl Morey, Elton Brand and Nick Nurse onboard a guard with both a high ceiling — and the work ethic to reach it.

NBA free agency is underway, and the Sixers plan to sign former Brooklyn Nets power forward Trendon Watford. Watford's deal makes it unlikely that Guerschon Yabusele will return to the Sixers next season.

Guerschon Yabusele is headed to the New York Knicks, and while retaining the 29-year-old would have been among my top priorities, Watford would have been one of my primary targets with the taxpayer's mid-level exception to replace Yabusele in the event he was departing.
