The event startup behind the Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest has banned contests to find other doppelgängers after dozens of other contests kept popping up.

NEW YORK — Timothée Chalamet offered to pay a $500 fine slapped on the organizer of his lookalike contest in New York City, according to the would-be recipient, who graciously declined.

Looks like the star of "Dune" and "Wonka" is a really good guy, according to the man who organized a look-alike contest dedicated to him.

Apparently, Timmy reached out to 23-year-old Anthony Po to praise him for coming up with the now-infamous contest.

The 'Dune' star's team also reached out with words of praise for the viral event: "They basically [said] like, 'We thought it was awesome.'"

Timothée Chalamet's team made a generous offer after New York City's look-alike contest resulted in arrests. In an interview published on Dec. 3, the event's organizer Anthony Po told PEOPLE that he was issued a $500 fine for hosting the contest at Washington Square Park without a permit.
