Lagonza Hayward, a 2025 safety, has announced his commitment to Florida. The Georgia Bulldogs have been working on putting the finishing touches on their 2025 recruiting class but one of their targets just committed elsewhere.

The Gators won out over Georgia and Tennessee for 4-star safety Lagonza Hayward on Wednesday during early signing day.

Toombs County’s Lagonza Hayward, TJ Stanley, and Mike Polke have been playing football together on the field and close friends off the field since the age of 7. Now, as seniors in high school, they’ve signed their National Letters of Intent together.

Early Signing Day became even sweeter for Billy Napier and Florida football as the Gators flipped 4-star safety Lagonza Hayward from rival Tennessee.

The Peach State star out of Lyons (Ga.) Toombs County considered many programs on the traditional SEC East side of the coin before committing to Tennessee back in July. He backed off of the Vols to kick off the month of December and the battle between in-state Georgia and Florida ramped back up.

Safety Lagonza Hayward was the second-highest-rated prospect in Tennessee's 2025 recruiting class. But he has changed his mind about the Vols.

Anquon Fegans, a four-star safety out of Thompson High School, is the most recent player to officially join Auburn’s 2024 signing class. Fegans, who has been committed to the Tigers since July 29, officially signed on Wednesday.
