Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, also known as Krishna Das Prabhu, is an ISKCON monk and prominent Hindu leader who was arrested in Bangladesh for his alleged involvement in protests against violence towards Hindus.

Bangladesh authorities have ordered a 30-day freeze on the bank accounts of 17 individuals linked to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), including Chinmoy Krishna Das, a former member arrested this week on sedition charges.

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) on Thursday expressed solidarity with priest Chinmoy Krishna Das, who was arrested on charges of sedition for allegedly raising a flag on a stand displaying Bangladesh's national flag.

Earlier, General Secretary Of ISKCON Bangladesh Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari had said that the arrested monk had been removed from all positions due to breach of discipline. On this, the group clarified that Das was not an official member of the organisation and it did not attempt to distance itself from him.

ISKCON showed support for Chinmoy Krishna Das, arrested for sedition after displaying Bangladesh's flag. A Chittagong court denied his bail request, leading to public outrage and demands for his release.
