Former United States champion Jacob Fatu reportedly may have to miss a significant amount of time due to an injury.

WWE ran a major injury angle involving Jacob Fatu near the conclusion of "Friday Night SmackDown" in San Jose.

Dragunov kicked out of a Blue Thunder Bomb, prompting "Holy sh*t" chants. A moment later, Solo Sikoa appeared at the entrance, temporarily distracting Zayn, although Zayn still caught Dragunov with an exploder – but it wasn’t enough.

In 2025, Fatu saw a meteoric rise. He would win the United States Championship at WrestleMania 41, and he would later turn babyface for the first time in WWE. He feuded with Sikoa, and his United States Championship reign would end at the hands of Sikoa at Night of Champions.
