The NBA handed down suspensions for the altercation between the Timberwolves and Pistons. While not light, the punishments for an incident that spilled into the crowd could have been much worse. Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart was suspended two games without pay "for escalating an on-court altercation.

Pistons center Isaiah Stewart received a two-game ban. Pistons forward Ron Holland II and guard Marcus Sasser will have to sit out one game. Timberwolves forward Naz Reid and guard Donte DiVincenzo were also suspended one game apiece.

DiVincenzo sparked the brawl after confronting Pistons rookie Rondale Holland II for a foul on Reid. DiVincenzo grabbed Holland's jersey, and spun him around before the two became tangled and fell into the first row.
