IO Interactive is the first major company to part ways with Irish superstar Conor McGregor after a court found him civilly liable for a December 2018 sexual assault. McGregor, 36, was recently found civilly liable of a sexual assault after Irish woman Nikita Hand accused him and his friend James Lawrence of forcing sex on her in a Dublin hotel in December 2018.

IO Interactive, the Hitman studio, announces it will cease collaboration with Conor McGregor after a court ruling on a 2018 rape case.

"In light of the recent court ruling regarding Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has made the decision to cease its collaboration with the athlete, effective immediately. We take this matter very seriously and cannot ignore its implications. Consequently, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr. McGregor from our storefronts starting today."
