Warren Buffett is celebrating the successes of Berkshire Hathaway’s companies last year and in the 60 years since he took over a struggling New England textile company and began converting it into a massive conglomerate.

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway on Saturday reported fourth-quarter operating earnings that surged more than 70% year-over-year.

Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.B) (NYSE:BRK.A) paid $26.8B to the Internal Revenue Service last year, "about 5% of what all of corporate America paid," Chairman, CEO and legendary investor Warren Buffett wrote in his annual letter to shareholders on Saturday.
