On Friday, after weeks of fierce and passionate debate, MPs began their formal scrutiny of the bill that would allow terminally ill adults expected to die within six months to seek help to end their own life.

The assisted dying debate has been seemingly dominated by supporters of the Bill, which passed its second reading with a 55-vote majority on Friday, many of whom argue that we must be able to put people down,

The bill applies to those who are at least 18 years old, have received a terminal diagnosis and have no more than six months to live. Two doctors and a judge would have to give their approval, and fatal drugs would need to be self-administered.
