Despite beating the No. 25 Michigan Wolverines 31-13 on Oct. 11, the USC Trojans are no longer ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll entering week 9. Michigan being ranked over USC isn't the only controversy from the recent AP Top 25 rankings.
In the latest Sunday, Oct. 26 US LBM Coaches poll, the Cincinnati Bearcats are now No. 21.
The Big Ten and SEC have a hold on the top of the AP Top 25. The top six teams in Sunday's poll play in the two power conferences. That was a result of the Miami Hurricanes' loss to the Louisville Cardinals on Friday and consequent tumble from No. 2.
The Buckeyes, college football’s only program who has spent over 1,000 weeks ranked in the AP Poll, came in atop the Week 9 rankings receiving 60 of 66 first place votes. Ole Miss, Texas Tech, and Miami (FL) all dropped out of the Top 10 after suffering their first losses of the season.
