Washington Capitals star Alexader Ovechkin will miss multiple weeks due to a significant injury, halting his chase to secure the most goals record.

The Capitals produced only one 5-on-5 goal in each of their first two games without Ovechkin and have struggled at times getting shots on net. They went 15:44 without a shot on goal during one stretch against the Avalanche and had just three shots in the first period -- none from forwards -- in the first period against the Devils.
